Speakers

The Future of Engineering Summit would not be the same without the visionaries who are shaping the next era of innovation. Our speakers are industry leaders and pioneers who are hands-on experts, bringing cutting-edge technologies, groundbreaking research and real-world applications to the stage.

Come and discover the minds driving the future forward, and gain insights that will transform the way you engineer, design and innovate.

Blake Courter

Blake Courter (BS Mechanical Engineering w/ Materials Science, Princeton University) has led innovation in engineering software for three decades. As CTO and Head of Product at nTop, he established the category of field-driven, generative implicit design. As founder of SpaceClaim (now ANSYS Discovery), he created the first interactive direct editing CAD system, later adopted across the industry. At GrabCAD, he developed the first cloud-based collaborative PDM system, growing the user community to 8 million users.

Dr. Moritz Maier

Dr. Moritz Maier is Co-founder and Co-CEO of Synera. He was fascinated by the connection between technology and entrepreneurship from an early age -founding his first company at 16. His path later led him through scientific research and consulting to the central question that drives him to this day. How can engineers work more intelligently through automation rather than just faster? With a PhD in product development processes and experience in generative design, additive manufacturing, and process automation, he now works on the vision of digital engineers: Al agents that support technical development teams and give them more space for innovation.

Michael Finocchario

Michael Finocchiaro is a Franco-American technology evangelist and consultant with over 30 years of experience in PLM, digital twins, and engineering software infrastructure. He has held senior roles at Dassault Systèmes, IBM, and PTC, and now advises leading firms on digital transformation, AI, and competitive strategy across the manufacturing tech stack. Michael is also the creator of Demystifying PLMand a recognized voice on CAD, digital threads, and agentic AI.

Dr. Steven Lainé

Steven is an Application Engineering Manager and Technical Lead for AI at SimScale. He has a technical foundation, with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Materials Science. Steve has 12 years of industry-relevant experience from working in aerospace design and engineering simulation.

Dr. Ferdinand Schockenhoff

Ferdinand, Senior Manager at Capgemini Invent, is responsible for automotive product development 2030+ including AI@Automotive Engineering. In this role, he supports clients from the automotive industry in their transformation to a modern AI agent-based product development. In addition to consulting projects, his knowledge is based on a PhD in product development processes.

Duann Scott

Duann Scott is the founder of the CDFAM – Computational Design Symposium, bringing together experts across design, engineering, and software development to explore the future of computational design at all scales.
He is also the Executive Director of the 3MF Consortium, driving the development of an open data standard for additive manufacturing.
With a background spanning industry, academia, and technology, Duann focuses on advancing innovation in digital design and manufacturing.
